In this document, Warren Lange will be referred to as "the Tutor" and the user of this website and/or any services offered by Warren Lange and/or Blue and White Chem Tutor will be referred to as "the Student". If at any point in this document there is ambiguity regarding whether the Student is to pay the Tutor or the Tutor is to pay the Student, it shall be assumed that the Student is to pay the Tutor. All dollar amounts specified herein are in USD. Except where otherwise specified, all communication between the Student and the Tutor must be time-stamped and written to be considered valid according to this document. Scheduling a Session:
A Session is defined as a meeting between the Student and the Tutor. Sessions must be scheduled ahead of time using the "Book Online" page of this website. Payment for each Session is due in full at the time of scheduling. Sessions must be scheduled to last 60 minutes, 90 minutes, or 120 minutes as specified on the "Book Online" page, at a cost of $80, $120, or $160 respectively. The website will send the Student a confirmation email with the details of the Session. If the Student does not receive a confirmation email upon booking, they must immediately contact the Tutor.

Agreed Meeting Location:
For in-person Sessions, the default agreed meeting location for a Session is in Watson Library in the Uris Hall of Columbia University in the City of New York. For virtual Sessions, the agreed meeting location is on Zoom. If the Student wishes to meet in an alternative location or via an alternative video calling service, the Student must make a time-stamped written request to the Tutor at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the Session. The agreed meeting location only changes if the Tutor responds in agreement. Note that only locations on the campus of Columbia University in the City of New York will be considered.

Start of a Session:
A Session is defined to start when both of the following conditions are true: (1) the scheduled start time has passed, and (2) the Tutor is at the agreed meeting location, ready to start the Session. Note that the Student does not need to be present for the Session to start. It is the responsibility of the Student to find the Tutor at the agreed meeting location. The Student's failure to find the Tutor does not prevent a Session from starting. If the Student is at the agreed meeting location and cannot find the Tutor, or for a virtual Session, if the Student has difficulty connecting, the Student must immediately contact the Tutor by phone at (914)-523-2463. If the Tutor does not answer, the Tutor is not considered ready to start the Session and thus the Session cannot start. If the Tutor answers, the Tutor is considered ready to start the Session.

End of a Session:
A Session ends after the duration of time scheduled (60, 90, or 120 minutes) has elapsed since the start of the Session. At the end of a Session, if both the Student and the Tutor agree, the time of the Session may be extended in 30 minute increments, with $40/increment paid in cash due immediately following the Session. It is the responsibility of the Tutor to stop a Session once it is over; if the Tutor and the Student accidentally continue past the scheduled end time, no additional monies are due to be paid by the Student. If the Tutor leaves the Session early, the Student will receive credit for the time remaining in the Session. If the Session started after the scheduled start time and the Student leaves the Session at or after the scheduled end time, the student will receive credit for the remaining time.

Cancellations:
A cancellation is defined as a time-stamped request made in writing by a party to no longer take part in an already scheduled Session. Once a cancellation is made, the Session will no longer be held and there will be no future obligation of the Tutor to provide the Session. If the Student desires, the Student may schedule and pay for a new Session.

Rescheduling:
The Student may reschedule a Session through the website interface. Note that the student must make an account on the website prior to scheduling a Session for that Session to be eligible to be rescheduled in this way. The Student may also request to reschedule a Session in a time-stamped written request to the Tutor at least 24 hours prior to the Session's previously scheduled start time. The request to reschedule is considered a forfeiting of the existing time-slot, regardless of when the Tutor and Student come to an agreement on a new time slot. If the reschedule request is sent within 24 hours of the start of the Session, the Tutor may, at his discretion, agree to reschedule, but is under no obligation to consider such requests.

Cancellations made by the Student:
The Student may cancel a Session in a time-stamped written request to the Tutor at least 24 hours prior to the Session's scheduled start time. A Cancellation of a Session by the Student performed prior to 24 hours before the start of the Session will result in a full refund of monies paid for the Session. All other cancellations by the Student will result in no refund.

Cancellations made by the Tutor:
A Cancellation of a Session by the Tutor performed prior to 24 hours before the scheduled start of the Session will result in a full refund of monies paid for the Session to the Student. A Cancellation by the Tutor made after 24 hours before the scheduled start of the Session will result in a full refund of monies paid for the Session to the Student, plus the Student will receive credit for a 60 minute Session.
